Recycling Tips: E-Waste

E-Waste Recycling

E-waste is both valuable as source for secondary raw material, and toxic if handled and discarded improperly.

Most e-waste can be recycled or at least the items from it removed/dismantled so that those recyclable parts are identified. There are hazardous materials contained in e-waste, dismantling of equipment should be left to the experts.

Light & fluorescent bulbs are dangerous so please handles these carefully. This is also the same for TV and LCD screens, batteries etc… they all contain dangerous materials like mercury so please ensure that these are recycled. Mercury is highly hazardous to humans as well as the environment. Most retailers in your area have drop off points for bulbs & batteries so please look out for these!
